Sitting Jesus Malverde

This statuette portrays Jesus Malverde, also called “the generous bandit”, sitting on his throne, with a large marijuana leaf and a couple of wads of cash.

This character is worshipped as a folklore saint in some areas of northwestern Mexico, especially those affected by the fight over drug trafficking. He is very popular among Mexican emigrants and miraculous effects are attributed to him when he is invoked for impossible causes.
