Lakshmi mask

This mask represents Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of good fortune, abundance, love and beauty.

It is said that Lakshmi represents all that is good in life, which is why she has so many devotees and followers. It is also said that whoever worships Lakshmi with sincerity and not out of greed, will be blessed with fortune and success.

Such masks are usually bought for the Varalakshmi Vratam festival. The women of the family make their poojas (offerings) to the goddess and later hang them at the entrance of their houses to bring good fortune and money to their homes.
