Recycled wood from Indonesian boats
Due to its high quality and strength, teak wood has traditionally been used to build fishing boats on the island of Java in Indonesia. In order to increase the durability, the islanders would apply several coats of paint to create multi-coloured boats. Once no longer in use, the boats were recycled as construction timber. Today, this material has been given a new life by creating these original wall wooden letters.
The wood is recovered while maintaining its integrity, so that each letter is unique, both in colour and texture. Depending on the pieces, knots, small holes and even the wooden nails used to fix the boards can be seen. As it is high quality recycled wood, the letters are suitable for both interior and exterior decoration.
