Steel enamelware

These are kitchen utensils made of metal and coated with a layer of highly resistant vitrified porcelain enamel.

In many Latin American countries it is called "vajilla de peltre", which is a type of metal that was formerly used to make this type of kitchenware. In Spain it has always been commonly called "enameled porcelain tableware".

Enamelware with a retro look

Until the 19th century, enamelled tableware was produced almost everywhere in the world. But the world wars from the 20th century onwards forced a decline in global production. Only a few countries in Asia or Latin America continued to produce these utensils.
